What’s in the News? Using Media Cloud to Analyze Digital Media Patterns Online

What’s in the News? Using Media Cloud to Analyze Digital Media Patterns

Media Cloud is a free web-based tool that aggregates and analyzes news content from more than 60,000 US and international digital sources. Developed by the Berkman Klein Center for Internet & Society at Harvard University, Media Cloud can be used to study media ecosystems, as well as track topics and specific terms over time.

In this workshop, we will:

  • navigate Media Cloud’s interface to select specific sources and collections.
  • use the suite of online analysis tools to identify trends and patterns.
  • create datasets to be exported for analysis.

Length: 45 minutes

You will receive the Zoom link and passcode when you RSVP.

An Important Note:

We are hoping to record many of our workshop sessions for use on our Library website and our YouTube channel for future instructional purposes. If you would like to remove any identifying information from your Zoom settings and profile, please do so prior to the start of this workshop.
