Accessibility Basics for Newsletters and Online Documents In-Person

Workshop 1: Accessibility Basics for Newsletters and Online Documents

The first in a series of 8 workshops on digital accessibility topics, this workshop covers digital accessibility basics that can make any online document or newsletter more accessible. We will use MS Word and review an example newsletter in MailChimp (or similar platform). These skills are transferable to other email marketing software platforms. Please bring a laptop with you to the workshop. 💻

You will gain hands-on experience making a document more accessible through a better understanding of:

  • Document heading structure,
  • Alt text for images,
  • Accessible fonts,
  • Bulleted and numbered lists,
  • Descriptive URLs,
  • and more.

Details of the workshop series can be found in the 2026-2027 Accessibility Workshop Series guide and on the Library's Upcoming Events Calendar. RSVPs are required.

Light refreshments will be provided. 🥤We also encourage you to bring your own lunch. 🥪
