As college students at a research university, you are able to access information that isn’t available to everyone. In this short workshop, we will discuss information privilege by exploring the exclusivity of scholarly journal articles, noting power structures that impact who publishes and who can access this kind of information. Becoming aware of these structures will help you be more thoughtful about the way information is created, shared, and suppressed.
