Version Control with Git and Github (software carpentry workshop series) Online

Have you ever ruined your code by trying to "improve" it? Using version control, you can fearlessly edit your code without risking your hard-won progress. This workshop will teach you the fundamentals of version control with Git. You'll learn how to revisit earlier snapshots of your code, try out alternative versions of your project, and collaborate with your colleagues on Github.

Participants should install Git on their computer prior to the first workshop. You can find our installation guide here: https://libguides.ucmerced.edu/software-carpentry/git/install . If you need assistance with software installation, join us for pre-workshop office hours on Wednesday, Nov 18, 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm (use the workshop Zoom link).
