Exploring Public Opinion Polls: Election 2020 Online

Exploring Public Opinion Polls: Election 2020

Public opinion polls are essential to capturing the attitudes and beliefs of American voters and are predominantly featured in media reports about key issues, candidates, and electoral politics. This workshop will explore a few library and publicly available resources for state and national public opinion polls. Join us to learn more about:

  • the applications and limitations of polling data.
  • searching in resources such as Roper iPoll, the American National Election Studies (ANES), and the Pew Resource Center.
  • downloading underlying data for your own analysis.
  • strategies for evaluating public opinion polls.
