Introduction to Locating Secondary Data & Searching Data Repositories Online

Introduction to Locating Secondary Data & Searching Data Repositories

Access to research data is essential for reproducing pre-existing findings, facilitating collaboration, and developing new insights through secondary analysis. As a researcher, how do you locate data sets that are relevant to your research?

This workshop will provide an introduction to the data repository landscape and strategies for navigating data sources to discover relevant and usable data. During this workshop, participants will:

  • Explore major data sources, directories and repositories.
  • Become familiar with the different levels of access to data sets (open vs. licensed).
  • Locate discipline-specific repositories and in-depth training resources.
