Have you ever read something on Wikipedia that needed to be fact checked? Or come across an article in need of improvement? Or have you ever been surprised that an entry for a specific topic just didn’t exist?
During this hands-on workshop, you will learn how to start editing Wikipedia, from creating a user account, to making small edits, and adding references. You will also be introduced to the principles behind Wikipedia and expectations of its contributors. Being a Wikipedia editor is a fun way to put knowledge into the world. However through this work, you will also improve your own research skills, and become a more savvy Wikipedia user.
This workshop is for anyone interested in Wikipedia, as well as for instructors who are interested in editing Wikipedia with a class.
Length: 50 minutes
You will receive a Zoom link with your registration email confirmation.
An Important Note:
