SURI Block 3 - 11:20 am - 12:00 pm: Bridging the Credibility Gap: Finding the Needle of Credible Information in the Haystack of Mis/Disinformation In-Person

It is no secret that we are living in what many have dubbed the “Post-Truth Age.” The digital pipeline gives us access to vast amounts of highly credible information while simultaneously drowning us in fake news, propaganda, conspiracy theories, and plain-old lies.

In this session you learn the basic techniques for evaluating the credibility of information while also learning what makes any piece of information credible as well as what factors limit the credibility and applicability of even the best information.
