DESCRIPTION:Please join us for a Faculty Author Series talk co-sponsored by 
 the Center for Africana Studies featuring Assistant Professor of 
 Anthropology\, Daniel K. Thompson. \n\nIn this talk\, Dr. Thompson will 
 discuss his new book\, Smugglers\, Speculators\, and the City in the 
 Ethiopia-Somalia Borderlands. The book explores the work of 
 Ethiopian-Somali smugglers and investors and examines links between cities 
 and borders in rapid urbanization.  \n\nEvent Time: Noon-1pm \n\nEvent 
 Date: Thursday\, September 25\, 2025 \n\nEvent Location: Kolligian Library 
 Building\, KL 232 \n\nRegistration is encouraged as seating is limited. 
 Light refreshments provided. We will have a giveaway of a few copies of the
